Her work has focused in particular on analysis of fisheries data from the marine no take zones being developed in Andavadoaka, as well as developing the shark and marine turtle fisheries monitoring programmes launched in 2006.
Fran has degrees in zoology and marine ecology from Oxford and Plymouth universities and prior to joining the BV team worked as a marine scientist with Coral Cay Conservation in the Philippines.
She currently also studies for a part-time PhD on the shark and turtle fisheries in southwest Madagascar with the University of Exeter.
