Prior to joining Blue Ventures’ research team she participated in a year-long marine protected area management training programme, run by the IHSM and Madagascar’s national parks service, ANGAP.
Lalao works with the Velondriake Committee, based in Andavadoaka, coordinating monitoring of seagrass and mangroves habitats within the Velondriake Marine Protected Area network. She also acts as a Blue Ventures’ liaison with the Women's Associations being established in several of the Velondriake vilages.
